What Is Rushing:

The term "rush" is really another term for new membership recruitment - for Colorado Mesa University, it is a time where the Greek Community hosts fun, free events around campus with the intent of allowing prospective members an opportunity to meet the brothers and ask questions they might have.

What Can Kappa Sigma Offer Me:

Membership in Kappa Sigma provides many benefits to the men who choose to join, as brothers have a chance to network with brothers from around North America. Really, Kappa Sigma offers outstanding leadership development opportunities to through a purely unique brotherhood!

Is There a Financial Obligation:

Yes, during the pledge period, there are two necessary fees that must be paid; one for Pledging ($45) and one for Initiation ($150). After that, all undergraduate fees go to funding events, buying items such as shirts, and facilitating trips around the United States.

Does Kappa Sigma Haze Their Pledges:

No, hazing does not build brotherhood. We develop brotherhood through positive and safe activities. Our international headquarters and code of conduct mandate that we, not haze pledges, and we abide by the laws outlined locally as well as nationally.

Will Pledging Take Time Away From Classes & Hurt My Grades:

No. Pledging Kappa Sigma can, in fact, will help your grades as scholarship is one of our four founding pillars. The pledging process can be very beneficial, as it allows you to connect with your fellow pledges and brothers, who can offer you help if you need it.

What Will My Parents Think:

Kappa Sigma is an extraordinary fraternity, with a support system unlike any other. The brothers become like your family, and together they make sure they succeed in their years together. Parents can visit the Kappa Sigma Headquarters website for any additional information or questions.
